body schema 02—
A key concept of body schema : Clothing enhances sensation.
This could be called the extension of body.
Where does fabric end and clothing begin?
When does fabric become clothing?
Perhaps the act of “wearing” is the threshold between clothing and non-clothing.
He is a model.
We gave him two orders: to search for a piece of fabric on the ground and to imagine
the fabric using all senses besides sight when he found it.
Then, when he had an image in his head, to wear it and put on his shoes.
body schema 02—
「body schema / 身体図式」の概念の１つとして、
身につけたものを通して感覚を得る事が出来る、身体の拡張というものがある。
どこまでが布であり、どこからが服なのか。いつ布から服になるのか。
「着る」という行為を境に服になるのかもしれない。
彼はモデルである。
彼には『床にある布をさがし、その布を手にしたら視覚以外の感覚を使い
可能な限り「それがどんなものなのか」をリアルにイメージして下さい。
イメージができたと判断したらそれを身につけて下さい。
そして靴を履いて終えて下さい。』と伝えた。

body schema 01—
A key concept of body schema : through repeating the same motion over and over again,
experience stores in the body. Before long, the body begins to move reflexively.
The man tries to put on his shoes.
He must, however, verbally express every action, every part of the body he wishes to move in order to do so.
(What he calls each part, and how he moves is up to him).
The body moves reflexively and unconsciously according to stored experience.
In this video, we force the actor to dissect his actions.
By repeatedly directing his awareness at each thought, utterance and movement,
his actions slow. Sooner or later, this cycle stagnates and his movements stop completely.
The wrinkling, draping, and stretching of his clothing, born from these movements, express his skin.
body schema 01—
「body schema / 身体図式」の概念の１つとして、同じ動きを繰り返すことで身体に経験を蓄積する。
いつの間にか体は条件反射的に動いてしまう。
彼は靴を履こうとしている。
ただし、それを開始し、終えるまで彼は自分動かしたい身体の部位を口に出してからでないと動かす事は出来ない。
（部位の名称や、動作させる際の細分化は被写体の判断に全任している。どこまでを自覚化するか、ということも同様。）
経験を蓄積し反射的/無意識に動かせるという人間の身体。
この映像では行動を被写体に自ら分解させる。
「思考」「発言」「動かす」を自覚し、繰り返す事によって動きは遅くなっていく。
いずれそれらの循環は渋滞を起こし彼の動きが止まる瞬間がやってくる。
その動きからうまれる服の皺や垂れ、張りは彼の生きた皮膚を表している。

There's a lake located in the hills, in the Shan State, in Myanmar. They call it Lake Inle.
Where the water surface and clouds collide. Where the color blue wraps the whole wide world.
Those who live in Maing Thauk, a village on water, sail on boats.
Making their bodies flow as gracefully as water would.

“Project ONEbyONE,” started in 2013, presents various collections developed along region-specific themes.
It documents people of each region wearing these custom clothes in their daily lives, the deep relationship
between clothing and their cultures, and the various situations born out of the wearing of clothing as a direct,
communicative act.
"SITUATIONS 003" documents Intha people living in Maing Thuak village, on the water of Inle Lake in Myanamar.

直接的なコミュニケーションの中で生まれたシチュエーションを記録するプロジェクト。
"SITUATIONS 003"は、ミャンマー・インレー湖にある水上の村-Maing Thauk-を拠点に、
水上で生活するインダー族の人々を記録。

SITUATIONS 002 "The silence of Little Tibet"
Ladakh is located between the Himalayan mountains and Karakoram mountains –both higher than 3,500m.
This harsh environment isolates outer culture from invading while letting graceful people live in the quiet.
